  • Botanical Name: Anubias barteri var. nana ‘Bonsai’

  • Common Name(s): Anubias Nana Bonsai, Dwarf Anubias Bonsai

  • Description: Anubias barteri var. nana ‘Bonsai’ is a miniature cultivar of the popular Anubias plant, known for its extremely compact size and small, thick, dark green leaves. It has a slow-growing rhizome and sturdy foliage that adds a refined, bonsai-like appearance to aquariums. Due to its small size, it is perfect for nano tanks, aquascaping details, and foreground placement. Its tough leaves are resistant to most herbivorous fish, making it a durable and long-lasting aquarium plant.

    Care:

    • Lighting: Low to moderate light; excessive light may encourage algae growth on leaves.

    • CO₂: Not required, but can support slightly faster growth.

    • Placement: Attach to driftwood, rocks, or décor. Do not bury the rhizome, as this can cause rot.

    • Water Parameters: Ideal temperature range of 22–28°C, pH 6.0–7.5.

    • Maintenance: Very low maintenance. Trim older leaves as needed and propagate by dividing the rhizome.
