succulent-split-rocks
Succulent 'Split Rocks'

Succulent 'Split Rocks' 🪨 looks like a pair of smooth gray-green stones split down the middle. It's a slow-growing mimicry plant from South Africa, and when it's happy it puts out daisy-like flowers right from the split. It wants bright light with some direct sun, so a sunny windowsill is perfect. Water very sparingly and only when the soil is bone dry; too much water is the fastest way to lose it. Pro tip: when a new pair of leaves comes up from the middle, the old pair shrivels away. That's normal, so don't water more to "fix" it 💧. When it arrives, give it 2-4 weeks to settle in before you repot.

Sold in 2" or 4" pots

⸻

Quick Facts:
🌱 Botanical Name: Pleiospilos nelii
🏷️ Common Names: Split Rock, Split Rock Succulent, Living Rock, Mimicry Plant
💧 Watering Needs: Very low; soak, then let the soil dry out completely
☀️ Light Needs: Bright light to full sun
🍃 Growth Habit: Low, slow-growing pairs of thick leaves
🪴 Difficulty Level: Intermediate
⚠️ Pet safety: this plant has not been confirmed non-toxic.
